The “Open Society” project, concerns the provision of services and activities to facilitate the integration of Third Country Nationals (TCN’s) in Cyprus.
It is co-funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and the Republic of Cyprus, to support the integration process of Third Country Nationals (TCNs) in the local community.
The increasing migratory flows to EU Member States in recent years, require now, more than ever, the involvement of Local Authorities to ensure the smooth integration of TCNs in the local communities.
Ultimately, local communities will be able to harness the benefits of immigration, the knowledge and skills of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers by giving them opportunities to participate in the economic development and the social life of Cyprus.
The programme addresses Third Country Nationals (TCNs), people coming from countries outside the EU including:
- immigrants who live and work legally in Cyprus,
- people who live in Cyprus as refugees or under the status of subsidiary or temporary protection,
- asylum seekers,
- people resettled or relocated or transported from another EU member state,
- Third Country Nationals who are in the process of obtaining legal residence.
